When You Hit the Wall – Keep Going

In case nobody else mentioned it to you, let me be the first. Life will knock the wind out of you—even when things are going great. That’s the part no one wants to say out loud. Just when you feel like you’re in your groove, here comes the wall – that thing that makes you question yourself, your purpose, your path, and your power.

But listen closely: hitting the wall doesn’t mean you’re finished—it just means you’ve reached the place where most people stop. That can be when your real determination and growth takes place.

Now, be really careful: if you convince yourself that your wall is harder than everybody else’s… you’ll park your dreams right there. You’ll start thinking, “Nobody else had to go through this,” and that mindset will paralyze your progress.

But here’s the truth that all champions know: everybody hits the wall. Every person you admire. Every success story you’ve heard. They hit it, too. And they didn’t just survive—they pushed through. And, so can you.

Here’s how to push through when you hit that wall:

1.     Stop and breathe. When you hit the wall, panic is the first thing that shows up. Don’t let it lead. Take a deep breath. You’re still here. That means there’s still a way.

2.     Talk to yourself, not just listen. Don’t let your inner critic run the show. Say things like, “I’ve made it through worse,” or “This wall is a door in disguise.” Speak life over your situation. Stand tall and firm on your faith.

3.     Break it down. Sometimes the wall looks huge because you’re trying to bulldoze it all at once. Break the challenge into small steps. One brick at a time.

4.     Call on your tribe. Don’t isolate. Talk to somebody who’s been where you are. Borrow some of their courage if you need to.

5.     Remember why you started. Go back to your “why.” Let that fire get hot again. Purpose has a way of melting walls.

When you hit the wall – and you will -don’t give up. Don’t settle. Remind yourself: I’m not the first to face this, and I won’t be the last. But I know I  break through. Keep going. There’s victory on the other side.
