Making mistakes is such a natural part of the human experience that it should almost be celebrated. It’s during our times of failure that we learn, grow, and become better versions of ourselves. However, there comes a time when we realize that we are going in the wrong direction, and we need to turn around and go the other way. During these times, trusting our internal GPS can lead us to our desired final outcome.
When we set out to do something, we often have a clear idea of what we want the final outcome to be. However, as we travel along on our journey, we may unintentionally take a wrong turn, causing us to stray from our intended path. This is where an about-face comes in. It is the ability to recognize that we are going in the wrong direction and make a conscious decision to turn around. It can be scary to admit we made a wrong decision, but it’s vital to acknowledge the missteps we have taken to get to where we are. By having the courage to turn around, we can get ourselves back on track and start making progress again.
Trusting our internal GPS is crucial when we make mistakes and need to turn around. Have you ever met somebody or been in the situation and somehow something seemed off. You don’t quite know what it is, but you can feel something’s not right. Our internal GPS is an innate sense of what feels right and wrong. It’s our intuition, the voice inside, telling us when something isn’t working. By learning to trust our internal GPS, we can recognize when we’ve gone off course. Listening to our intuition allows us to make the necessary adjustments, creating a clearer path to our final outcome, the destination or goal we have set out to achieve.
Once we’ve returned to the correct path, the journey to our final outcome may seem smoother, but that does not mean the road ahead is easy. We may face additional obstacles on our journey. That is okay, it just means we are still learning in getting better all the time.
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I find that if I just keep listening to the information that I have within me, I am spinning my wheels. I am only so smart. Just like a GPS is only an app or a device that sits on your board. It has no knowledge within it. But if you hook it up to the satellite, which is high above and sees all the things that you can’t see, that’s where the power comes from. For me, I have to connect my internal GPS to the wisdom of God through prayer. That’s when I get my best direction. I just have to be wise enough to listen and do it.
Making mistakes should not be feared; instead, it should be embraced. Turning around and admitting our errors take courage, allowing us to identify the right path forward. By listening to our internal GPS, hooked up to the right source, we can make the necessary adjustments and remain focused on the desired final outcome. Remember, the road to success is never easy, and often, it’s only by traveling in the wrong direction that we learn the right way to go.
I wish you a good journey, my friend.
